EMS is an acronym for Electrical Muscle Stimulation. EMS is
a method of Physical Therapy, a means of training for sports
and a means to increase muscle bulk and tone.
EMS stimulates an extra flow of signals that travel from the
Central Nervous System to the muscles to cause them to contract
(Exercise). EMS is not a replacement for normal exercise, but
EMS has special use to rehabilitate after injury or physical
trauma, or to build up specific muscle groups. EMS is also
applied transcutaneously (across the skin).
